Every year for the last ten years, students at Thomas Telford School have been able to celebrate the fact their School has featured as the top performing comprehensive school in England in at least one of the measures used by Government.

In 1999, it was the first school with an all ability intake to achieve a 99% pass rate at A*-C in five or more subjects and every year since then 100% of the students have exceeded this target. Since the introduction of the target to achieve 5+ A*-C passes including English and Maths in 2006, the School has edged ever closer to the 100% mark.

Headmaster, Sir Kevin Satchwell, said: "I never underestimate the terrific contribution that our teachers make to helping our students achieve their goals. I am elated just as much today as I was 10 years ago when the students started to set records. I am immensely proud of our students and especially the Class of 2009 and I remain extremely grateful to our parents and Governors for the support they give me, the staff and the students."
