Rebecca Pugh, Grace Kendrick and Roy Au

Rebecca Pugh, Grace Kendrick and Roy Au are the Star Students this week. All three won individual prizes at the first Soapbox Public Speaking Competition which took place in July.

Rebecca, now in Year 11, won the Best Main Speaker Award for her beautifully delivered six minute speech entitled "Who let you out of the Kitchen" about male/female stereotypes. Grace (also Year 11) won the Best Chairperson Award for her control of the meeting in an efficient yet sensitive way with skilful teamworking. Both these students were appearing in their first senior public speaking competition.

In the Intermediate section Roy Au (Year 9) won the Best Chairperson Award for his Teamwork skills and the way he managed the 15 minute presentation. Again this was his first public speaking award and came from his hard work and flair in the role.
