Thomas Telford School Nursery

Image of Thomas Telford School Nursery

Thomas Telford School has a nursery with a baby unit for up to six babies and a twelve place unit for the children aged 2-5 years. We are open 47 weeks of the year. Please contact Mrs Tesni Allday, Senior Nursery Nurse, to enquire about vacancies, Telephone number 01952 207097.

We offer a small facility which has a safe, caring environment where children are stimulated in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Six qualified Nursery Nurses provide the children with care and attention. We encourage the personality of each child to develop and their confidence to grow.

In January 2009, the Nursery was inspected by Ofsted who graded the Nursery Outstanding.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines. The children are encouraged to choose what they want to play with and select from a wide variety of high quality toys and equipment.

During the day, we observe and take photographs which are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage as part of your child's learning journey. You will receive these written observations every 4 weeks with the learning journey. Parents are encouraged to add to this with observations from home.

Mrs Price our Graduate Early Years Professional spends one day a week in the Nursery to offer advice and support. Miss Mantle from the English department of the School comes to assist with the ongoing Phonics programme at the Nursery and works with the pre-school children.

Our Weekly theme extends the child's learning through a range of stimulating and exciting activities, examples of this can be seen on the activities list to the right.
